Essay by Tapas Sarkar;  Root is identity. We are where we belong to. Any diversion is temporary; to gather knowledge and degree, or to explore the world desiring for change is temporarily significant to strengthen the origin existence. Besides, permanence is not stable rather continuously rejuvenating the memory and the truest sense of the origin existence and living in a space with common human harmony. To be in that space is necessary whether that is after a long time at a successful life or a great awakening just before death. Otherwise, forgetting that space and the origin existence is undoubtedly false living, a life without societal values, social relations, human cohesiveness, which is merely a self-centred mania.    No doubt, individual choice of identity, value, thought, philosophy, religion, or any kind of belief whether that is political or apolitical is a freely existing variable; it should be this way, which means any individual's freedom should be free from ...

The poems of this book are the manifestation of mysticism, love, dark-consciousness, nature, aestheticism, and philosophy. A sense of ‘mystery’ or ‘mystic self’ is everywhere in the book; there, the author’s self is being identified as mystic_purist. The poems of the five consecutive chapters define the gradually transformative journey of the author, from the dance of an individual through the observation of his bodily existence to the perception of his sense, formation of the psyche, connecting reason with reality and imagination, self-similitude with/for the truth, and finally a quest for salvation (in conscience) through the spiritual touch of impending spontaneous si...

Image
Notification; Tapas Sarkar;  Call for Book Chapters Book Title: Postmodern India: Literature, Film, and Drama Concept Note   The word ‘postmodernism’ comes across in varied facets, straying the readers and speakers from its specific interpretation and meaning. Jean-Francois Lyotard, in his book The Postmodern Condition: A Report on Knowledge (1979), defined the term with the statement, “Simplifying to the extreme, I define postmodern as incredulity towards metanarratives.” It means disbelief in ‘any grand theory’. Lyotard suggests that we should not just listen to one story or one narrative, because there are multiple stories behind a story. Therefore, we should listen to small narratives and not just metanarratives. In this context, mind must be open to all form of stories and narratives of knowledge. Today, India is one of the very few nations which can call itself a true ‘postmodern’. We, in India, celebrate diversity and heterogeneity of ideas, philosophy, literature, lang...
