Notification; Tapas Sarkar;  Call for Book Chapters Book Title: Postmodern India: Literature, Film, and Drama Concept Note   The word ‘postmodernism’ comes across in varied facets, straying the readers and speakers from its specific interpretation and meaning. Jean-Francois Lyotard, in his book The Postmodern Condition: A Report on Knowledge (1979), defined the term with the statement, “Simplifying to the extreme, I define postmodern as incredulity towards metanarratives.” It means disbelief in ‘any grand theory’. Lyotard suggests that we should not just listen to one story or one narrative, because there are multiple stories behind a story. Therefore, we should listen to small narratives and not just metanarratives. In this context, mind must be open to all form of stories and narratives of knowledge.
